CABBAGE CASSEROLE 
2 tbsp. vegetable shortening
1 lg. onion, chopped
1 1/2 lbs. ground meat
Salt and pepper
1 c. regular rice, cooked 10 minutes and drained
1 (3 lb.) head cabbage, cut in half, sliced finely
1 (10 3/4 oz.) can tomato soup
6 oz. can tomato sauce
1 soup can water

Melt shortening in skillet. Add onion, ground meat, and salt. Add rice and mix well.

Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan. Cut half of cabbage and place in pan. Add meat mixture. Put remaining sliced cabbage over meat mixture. Mix soup, tomato sauce and water and pour over cabbage mixture. Cover. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. Cool 10 minutes.
