MEATBALLS A LA DENISE 
3 lbs. ground round
2 onions, chopped
1 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. salt
4 eggs
1 1/2 c. crackers, crushed
1/4 can beef broth or bouillon

Combine above ingredients in large mixing bowl, mix well and set aside.

Combine the following in crock pot (or large Dutch oven) : 1 sm. can tomato juice 1 lb. brown sugar 1/2 pt. lemon juice 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. pepper 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 1 tsp. steak sauce 1 tbsp. whole allspice 3 slices lemon

To make removal later easier, may be tied in cheesecloth.

Mix well in crock pot and turn on HIGH. Make meatballs from meat mixture set aside and add to sauce mixture in crock pot as you make them. Bring sauce to a boil until starts to thicken. Remove lemon slices and allspice. Cook 25 more minutes on MEDIUM. Lower heat and simmer, covered 45 minutes. Serve with rice or pasta. Also may be served as an appetizer.
