MOM'S CHEAP QUICK SPAGHETTI
1 (16 oz.) pkg. spaghetti (your choice)

Prepare spaghetti according to package directions.

SAUCE:

3 or 4 onions, cut into medium size chunks
1/2 lb. (8 slices) bacon, cut into 3-inch pieces
1 (28 oz.) can whole tomatoes in juice
1/4 to 1/2 can water (use empty tomato can)
1/2 to 1 tsp. ground black pepper
3 or 4 tbsp. granulated white sugar
1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
Parmesan cheese, for sprinkling

Cook onions and bacon together in a frying pan, stirring for about 10 to 15 minutes, not letting them brown. Drain off any grease.

Add tomatoes with juice and additional water. Chop tomatoes into chunks with a spoon. Add in the pepper, sugar and if desired, the optional salt. Let simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally, for about 25 to 35 minutes.

Serve piping hot over the pasta of your choice. Then sprinkle Parmesan cheese atop all when serving.
