AUTUMN BREAD 
2/3 c. shortening
3 c. sugar
4 eggs, well beaten
1 3/4 c. pumpkin
2/3 c. water
3 1/2 c. flour
Nuts if desired
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking soda

Mix all ingredients, sifting dry ingredients together. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour in greased tin cans or bread pans. Let cool 10 minutes. Remove and roll in sugar.
