SOFT OATMEAL COOKIES 
2 cups brown sugar
3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) butter
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
2 cups oatmeal
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. baking soda mixed with 3 tbsp. boiling water

Preheat oven to 325°F.

Cream sugar, butter and eggs. Mix in next 5 dry ingredients; stir in baking soda mixture and mix well. Drop by tablespoons onto greased cookie sheets.

Bake at 325°F for 10 to 15 minutes.
