SALLY ANN COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
2 eggs
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. molasses
4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. ginger

Mix shortening, eggs, buttermilk, sugar and molasses. Then add flour and spices. Chill dough. Roll dough thick and cut with a Spam can. Bake 10 cookies at a time on lightly greased cookie sheet in 350 degree oven.

SALLY ANN FROSTING:

1 env. plain gelatin
3/4 c. water
3/4 c. granulated sugar
3/4 c. powdered sugar
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla

Soak the gelatin and water in saucepan. Add granulated sugar and bring to a boil. Simmer 10 minutes. Stir and add powdered sugar and beat until foamy. Mix in baking powder and vanilla. Beat until thick. Frost underside of cookies and let stand until frosting is dry.
