SALLY LUNN COOKIES AND FROSTING 
1 c. shortening
1 c. molasses
3/4 c. hot coffee
3/4 c. white sugar
1 pkg. Knox gelatin
1 c. white sugar
3/4 tsp. baking powder
6 c. white flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. cloves
1 c. cold water
3/4 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix shortening, molasses, flour, salt, coffee, 3/4 cup white sugar, baking soda, cloves, and put in refrigerator 6 to 8 hours or overnight. Roll out and cut with square can. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes. Cool. Make the frosting: Soak gelatin in water, add sugar and stir. Bring to a boil and simmer 10 minutes. Pour mixture over powdered sugar and beat until foamy. Add remaining ingredients. Mix. Frost cookies.
