MARINATED SLAW 
1 cabbage
1 green sweet pepper
1 red sweet pepper
1 sm. onion
1 med. carrot
1 c. vinegar
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. turmeric
1/2 tsp. celery seed

Mix 1 small head shredded cabbage, 1 chopped green pepper, 1 chopped red pepper, 1 small onion, chopped and 1 medium carrot grated and set aside.

Mix 1 cup sugar, 1 cup vinegar, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon turmeric, 1/2 teaspoon celery seed and bring to a boil. Boil 3 minutes, pour over cabbage mixture while still hot.

When cool, put in covered jar and refrigerate. Will keep a week or more.
