1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 3/4 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. currants
1 c. quick oatmeal
1 c. tart applesauce
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream together shortening and sugar; blend in egg. Sift together flour, baking powder, soda, salt, and cinnamon. Mix currants and oats. Add to creamed mixture. Add applesauce, and blend. Beat well. drop by teaspoonful onto baking sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for about 15 minutes.
