1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. salt
1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. applesauce, unsweetened
1 c. oatmeal
1 c. chopped nuts

Cream first 4 ingredients together and add next 5 ingredients sifted together with applesauce. Add oatmeal and nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes on an ungreased cookie sheet. Drop from teaspoon. They are better the second day.
