SUSAN'S SPICY BEEF DIP | |
1 lb. ground beef 1/2 c. chopped onion 1 clove garlic, minced 1 (8 oz.) can (1 c.) tomato sauce 1/3 c. grated Parmesan cheese 1/4 c. catsup 1 tsp. sugar 3/4 tsp. dried oregano, crushed 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened Cook beef, onion and garlic in skillet until meat is lightly browned and onion is tender. Stir in tomato sauce, catsup, sugar and oregano. Cover and simmer gently 10 minutes. Spoon off excess fat and remove from heat. Add cheeses and heat and stir until cream cheese is melted and well combined. Keep warm in chafing dish or fondue pot. Serve with crackers or party rye. Makes 3 cups. |
