MANDIOCA HASH 
1 lb. mandioca (1/2 quilo)
1 c. ground meat or ground left-over meat
1 onion, chopped fine
Salt, pepper
Left-over gravy or a little broth

Cook mandioca until just done; remove string. Cut into cubes and fry in hot oil until crisp and golden. Add meat, onion, salt, and pepper. You may have to drain off some of the oil when cooking the meat if it seems too much. Stir with a fork a few times; cook slowly until meat is done. Add a small amount of left- over gravy or broth. The gravy can be omitted if you like hash crisp.
