BUNK HOUSE COUNTRY BEAN SOUP | |
Black eyed peas Split green peas Pinto beans Red kidney beans Baby lima beans White navy beans Lentil beans Butter beans Great Northern beans Black beans Garbanzo beans (if desired) 2 c. chopped ham 1 clove garlic, chopped 2 cans tomatoes 1 lg. onion, chopped 2 stalks celery, chopped Salt and pepper Wash beans and cover with water. Add 2 tablespoons salt and soak them all night. Put beans in 4 quarts water, then throw in the rest of the fixins. I cook them at least 4 hours. We love them here at our bunk house. Serve with a big hunk of cornbread and you've got a good meal. |
