1 c. bread crumbs 1 egg, beaten 1 c. applesauce 1/2 c. catsup 1 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. nutmeg 1/8 tsp. pepper 1 1/2 lbs. ground beef 1/4 c. minced onion 1/4 c. white wine or water Mix thoroughly: bread crumbs, egg, 1/2 cup applesauce, 1/4 cup catsup, seasonings. Blend in meat and onion. Form into 1 inch balls. Bake in large shallow pan for 15 minutes at 425 degrees. Drain off fat. Combine remaining applesauce, catsup and wine. Spoon over meatballs. Bake 10 minutes longer. |
