3 eggs
2 c. sugar
2 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 c. nuts
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
3 c. chopped apples
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 c. vegetable oil
1/4 tsp. nutmeg

Mix sugar and eggs. Add oil, mix well. Sift cinnamon, salt, soda and flour. Blend in 1 cup flour mixture and vanilla. Add remaining flour to chopped nuts and apples. Mix well and bake in greased tube pan at 350 degrees for about 65 minutes.

ICING:

1 1/2 sticks butter
1 1/2 c. brown sugar

Cook 3 1/2 minutes. Spread over cake while still warm.
