SHORTCAKE 
2 c. self-rising flour
2 tbsp. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 egg, beaten
2/3 c. light cream

Preheat oven 450 degrees F. Stir together flour and sugar. Cut in butter. In a separate bowl combine beaten egg and cream. Add to flour, stirring with fork until moistened. Spread dough in a greased 8 x 1 1/2 inch baking pan. Bake 15-18 minutes. Cool. Cut into 2 layers. Pile strawberries, sweetened, on bottom. Top with layer of shortcake, more berries, whip cream.
