FABULOUS ONION RINGS 
1 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 c. beer
3 lg. yellow onions
3 to 4 c. oil or shortening

Combine flour and beer in large bowl. Blend thoroughly using a whisk. Cover bowl and let stand at room temperature for no less than 3 hours. When batter is ready, preheat oven to 200 degrees. place brown paper on jell roll pan. Peel onions. Cut into 1/4 inch slices. Separate rings. Melt enough oil to come up 2 inches in the pan. Heat to 375 degrees, using thermometer. Dip onion rings in batter. Place in hot fat. Turn them once or twice until golden brown. Transfer to the paper lined jelly roll pan. Keep warm until all have been fried. 6 servings.
