SOFT PRETZELS 
1 pkg. dry yeast
3/4 c. very warm water
1 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. flour
Coarse salt
1 beaten egg

In a bowl, dissolve the yeast in the warm water. Add the sugar and the table salt. Add the flour, 1/2 cup at a time, mixing well after each addition. Put the dough on a lightly floured table or board and knead the dough until smooth (about 5 minutes).

Cut the dough into 6 or 7 pieces and make pretzel shapes (or whatever shapes you like). Cover cookie sheet with foil. Grease lightly. Place pretzels on sheet. Brush the pretzels with beaten egg. Sprinkle with coarse salt. Bake at 425 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes.
