CHRISTMAS DISH 
3 egg whites (1/3 c.)
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
12-16 unsalted single crackers
1/2 c. nuts
1/2 pt. whipping cream
Dash sugar
1 tbsp. pineapple preserves
Sprinkle with coconut

Beat egg whites with cream of tartar until stiff, fold in vanilla, cracker crumbs and nuts. Bake in greased and floured pyrex dish at 325 degrees for 20 minutes. Cool then add whipped cream, decorate cherries and sprinkle with coconut. Cut in squares.
