SWEDISH MEATBALLS 
1 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. minced onions
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 lb. lean ground pork
1 c. loosely packed mashed potatoes
1/4 c. fine dry bread crumbs
1/2 c. heavy cream
1/4 c. water
1 egg
Salt & pepper
Shortening

MEATBALLS: Heat butter and saute onions until soft and golden. Put onions in a large mixing bowl with meat, potatoes, bread crumbs, cream, water and eggs. Add salt and pepper. Mix until smooth. Shape into balls. Fry in hot shortening until brown, moving pan often to make them round. Remove meatballs from skillet. Make gravy in skillet.

GRAVY:

2 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. all purpose flour
1 cube beef bouillon dissolved in 1 1/4 c. water
1/2 tsp. instant coffee powder

Melt butter in skillet with meatball drippings. Stir in flour. Add beef bouillon and instant coffee. Cook and stir until thickened and bubbly. Put meatballs and gravy in a large pot and cook about 1/2 hour.
