GERMAN POTATO SALAD 
7 med. red potatoes
6 slices bacon
3/4 c. chopped onion
2 tbsp. flour
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. celery seed
Dash of pepper
3/4 c. water
1/3 c. vinegar

Boil potatoes and peel and slice. Fry bacon. Drain, saving drippings. Saute onions in bacon drippings until brown. Blend in spices and flour. Cook over low heat, stirring, until bubbly. Remove from heat. Stir in water and vinegar. Heat to boiling. Boil one minute. Crumble bacon. Add to hot mixture. Pour over potatoes and stir lightly to mix.
