BROCCOLI CHOWDER 
2 lbs. broccoli
2 (13 3/4 oz.) cans chicken broth
3 c. milk
1 c. chopped cooked ham
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 c. Half and half
2 c. shredded Swiss cheese
1/4 c. butter
Parsley to taste or lovage

Combine broccoli and 1 can chicken broth - cook 7 minutes - remove broccoli from broth; cool and chop coarsely. Add remaining can of broth, milk, ham, salt and pepper, parsley or lovage to Dutch oven. Boil over medium heat, stir occasionally. Stir in broccoli and remaining ingredients. Heat until thoroughly hot (do not boil). Yields: 6-8 servings.
