GOOD BLACK EYED PEAS 
2 lbs. black eyed peas (white beans substituted)
4 strips bacon, fried crisp & crumbled
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/2 c. chopped green pepper
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 c. chopped celery
2 c. stewed tomatoes
4 bay leaves
Salt & pepper to taste

Combine all ingredients except bacon and bay leaves. Cook until peas are tender. Add bay leaves and bacon. Cook about 30 minutes more. Remove bay leaves before serving.
