LAZY DAISY OATMEAL CAKE 
1 1/4 c. boiling water
1 c. oats
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 c. granulated sugar
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. flour, sifted all purpose
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
LAZY DAISY FROSTING

1/4 c. butter, melted
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
3 tbsp. cream
1/3 c. nutmeats, chopped (or more)
3/4 c. flaked coconut

For cake, pour boiling water over oats, cover and let stand 20 minutes. Beat butter until creamy, gradually add sugar and beat until fluffy. Blend in vanilla and eggs. Add oat mixture, mix well. Sift together flour, soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add to cream mixture. Mix well. Pour into well greased and floured 9 inch square pan. Bake in preheated oven 350 degrees for 50 to 55 minutes. Do not remove cake from pan.

For frosting, combine all ingredients. Spread evenly over cake. Broil until frosting becomes bubbly. May be served warm or cold.
