EXTRA SPECIAL CHOCOLATE CAKE 
4 sq. unsweetened chocolate
1 c. milk
4 eggs, separated, room temperature
2 c. sugar
1 c. all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/3 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Cut up chocolate; add to milk and heat, stirring over low heat until thickened to consistency of applesauce. This will take 15 minutes. Cool.

Beat egg yolks and add to chocolate mixture. Add sugar, then dry ingredients, which have been sifted together. Beat just until mixed. Add stiffly beaten egg whites and vanilla. Fold only until ingredients are mixed.

Bake in 2 well-greased and lined 9-inch layer cake pans at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes. Remove from pans, peel off waxed paper and cool on racks.
