POUND CAKE WITH ALMOND CRUST 
1 c. sliced almonds
1 pkg. golden pound cake mix (16 oz.)
1/2 tsp. almond extract

Heat oven to 325 degrees. Grease generously a loaf pan 9x5x3 inches. Sprinkle 1/2 cup of almonds over bottom and 2/3 up the sides of the pan, press if necessary.

Prepare cake mix as directed and add the almond extract. Pour batter into pan. Sprinkle almonds over batter. Bake as directed on package. Cool about 10 minutes then remove from pan. Let cake continue to cool.

Can be served plain or with your favorite fresh fruit or other topping.
