BUTTERMILK BROWNIES 
1 c. butter
1/3 c. unsweetened cocoa
2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 slightly beaten eggs
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

In saucepan combine butter, cocoa, and 1 cup water. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. In large bowl stir together flour, sugar, salt, and soda. Stir in eggs, buttermilk and vanilla. Add cocoa mixture and mix until blended. Pour into a jelly roll pan or two 9 x 9 x 2 inch pans. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes. Immediately pour frosting over warm brownies. Melt 1/3 cup butter, 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa, and 3 tablespoons buttermilk. Stir in boiling. Remove from heat. Beat in 2 1/4 cups powdered sugar, 1/2 cup nuts, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla.
