POPPY SEED CAKE 
1/2 c. poppy seed
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. almond

Combine and set aside.

1 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
4 egg yolks

Cream together.

2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder

Sift together.

1/2 c. sugar
1 tbsp. cinnamon

Mix and set aside.

Add buttermilk mixture and sifted ingredients to creamed mixture. Fold in 4 egg whites whipped stiff but not dry. Spread 1/2 batter in well greased large bundt or angel food pan. Sprinkle 1/2 sugar and cinnamon. Spread in remaining batter and sprinkle rest of sugar. Run knife through to marblize. Bake 55 minutes at 350 degrees. Makes yummy muffins, too!
