CHEESE TOPPED CASSEROLE 
1 (7 oz.) pkg. elbow macaroni
1/2 stick butter
1 lg. chopped onion
1 lb. hamburger
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
2 c. shredded cheese
2 tbsp. butter
2 cans (8 oz.) tomato sauce (with cheese)
1 can (4 oz.) mushrooms (drained)

Cook macaroni until tender. Drain, add 2 tablespoons butter while hot; set aside.

Melt 1/2 stick of butter in skillet. Saute onion, add beef and brown. Add seasoning, 1 1/2 cups cheese to meat and stir until melted.

Remove from heat. Stir meat into macaroni, add mushrooms, 1 1/2 cans tomato sauce. Mix well. Pour into baking dish or 2 dishes. Top with rest of tomato sauce and cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
