1 c. white sugar
3 tbsp. cornstarch
6 tbsp. cocoa powder or 2 squares unsweetened chocolate
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. boiling water
3 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla

In a medium saucepan, combine first 4 ingredients. Use a wire whisk for best results. Then stir in water. Turn stove on to medium heat and stir constantly until it resembles pudding. Remove from heat and add remaining ingredients. This frosting stays soft and smooth.
