6 egg whites 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar 3/4 c. white sugar 3/4 c. plus 1/2 tbsp. packed brown sugar 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1/2 tsp. almond extract 1 1/4 c. graham crackers 1/2 c. pecans Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until stiff peaks form. Add sugar slowly and beat 5 minutes. Fold in flavorings, fold in crackers and pecans. Grease pans heavily. Use 2 (8 inch) cake pans. Bake at 300 degrees for 30 minutes or until light brown. Cool cakes completely. Put whip cream in middle and on top; bananas in center, cherries and almond slices on top. |
