ENGLISH TOFFEE 
2 c. sugar
1 1/4 c. corn syrup
1 c. butter
1/2 c. water
2 3/4 c. pecans
2 c. or 6 Hershey bars

Butter large cookie sheet, set aside. Butter sides of heavy saucepan. In pan combine top 4 ingredients, moderate heat, stir constantly until sugar is dissolved and mix comes to boil. Continue cooking until mix reaches hard-crack (or 300 degrees on candy thermometer). Stir occasionally.

Pour onto cookie sheet. Top with broken chocolate, spread when melted. Sprinkle with pecans. When cool, break into pieces.
