APPLE SLICES 
DOUGH:

2 1/2 c. flour
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening
1 egg, separated
Milk

FILLING:

2 c. sugar
6-8 lg. green apples, peeled, pared & sliced
1 tsp. cinnamon

FROSTING:

1 c. powdered sugar
1 tbsp. (or more) lemon juice

Combine flour, 1 tablespoon sugar and salt with shortening like pie crust. Add enough milk to egg yolk to measure 2/3 cup. Add to shortening mixture to make dough. Roll out half of the dough and place in jelly roll pan (12" x 7 1/2" x 2"). Cover with apples. Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon over apples. Cover with the other half of the dough. Beat egg white and spread over crust. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes, then 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Mix together powdered sugar and lemon juice. Drizzle over apple slices while hot.
