CHERRY TORTE 
6 egg whites
3/4 tsp. cream of tartar
2 c. sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. saltines, broken fine
1 1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 or 2 pkgs. Dream Whip
1 can cherry pie filling

Put cream of tartar and vanilla in egg whites and beat until foamy. Add sugar slowly and beat until stiff. Fold nuts and saltines into beaten egg whites. Pour into 9"x13" baking dish, which has been generously greased. Bake about 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool completely. Beat Dream Whip as directed and spread over top. Top with one can of cherry pie filling. Store in refrigerator. (Can use blueberry pie filling if you wish.)
