ROMAN APPLE CAKE | |
1 c. shortening 2 eggs 1 c. buttermilk 2 c. apple 1 tsp. baking soda 1 c. sugar 1/2 c. brown sugar 2 1/2 c. flour 2 tsp. cinnamon II: 1/2 c. sugar 3/4 c. chopped nuts 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 pkg. chocolate chips Mix ingredients as usual for a cake. Mix second mixture and spread over top of first mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. SAUCE FOR CAKE: 1/2 c. brown sugar 1/2 c. white sugar 1/2 c. cream or evaporated milk 1/2 c. butter Boil 5 minutes and cool. Can be warmed in microwave and poured over cake when ready to serve. |
