TERIYAKI SPARERIBS 
2 1/2 to 3 lbs. pork spareribs
1/2 c. Oriental soy sauce
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. catsup
3 tbsp. honey
1 tsp. garlic salt or 1 sm. clove fresh garlic, minced
2 tsp. freshly grated ginger root

Place spareribs in a pan and cover by at least 1 inch with water. Bring water to a boil, lower heat, cover pan and simmer for 25 minutes. Drain, rinse spareribs and place them in a flat dish or pan large enough to hold them in a single layer.

In a bowl, combine soy sauce, sugar, catsup, honey, garlic salt and ginger root. Mix well and pour over the ribs. Marinate ribs for at least 3 hours.

Grill spareribs over charcoal or under a broiler until well browned, about 5 minutes on each side. Serve hot.
