PEANUT BUTTER CAKE | |
1/2 lb. butter 1 c. shortening 2 2/3 c. sugar 3 c. cake flour 1 c. milk 5 eggs 2 tsp. vanilla extract Beat sugar, butter and shortening until light and creamy. Add flavoring and mix well adding milk a little at a time. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each egg. Add flavoring. Pour into three 9 inch cake pans. Bake at 325 degrees for 30 minutes. FROSTING: 2 c. sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 1/3 c. peanut butter 1/2 c. butter 3/4 c. evaporated milk Mix sugar, butter and milk. Bring to a rolling boil. Remove from heat. Add peanut butter and vanilla. Beat until smooth. |
