3 c. Red Band plain flour
3 c. sugar
1 c. milk
1/2 c. Crisco
2 sticks butter
5 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter, shortening, and sugar. Add flour and milk alternately. Beat in eggs. Add flavoring. Pour in greased and floured tube pan. Put in cold oven, turn heat to 325 degrees, bake one hour (without opening oven). Turn oven to 350 degrees and bake for 30 minutes more. Cool and frost with favorite frosting.
