COMMUNION BREAD 
1 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
3 1/2 c. flour

Cream butter and sugar. Add soda and buttermilk and mix. Add to the creamed sugar and butter. Add cream of tartar and mix. Add flour, batter will be thick like icing. Spread with spatula onto cookie sheet. Bake 20 minutes at 400 degrees. (Keep track of this, the edges turn brown quickly. Remove from the oven when turning golden brown.) Can be cut with an electric knife to control crumbling or freeze and cut into 1/4 inch pieces while still frozen. Save a piece for breaking during the service.
