CLAM CHOWDER (NEW ENGLAND STYLE) 
4 c. potatoes, diced
2 1/2 c. water
1 tsp. salt
4 slices bacon
1/2 c. onion, chopped
1 lg. can Carnation Evaporated milk
1/4 c. cracker crumbs, crushed fine
2 cans of clams

Cook potatoes in salted water 20 minutes. Do not drain. Set aside. Cut bacon in small pieces. Partially cook, add onion and continue cooking until bacon is crisp. Add Carnation, bacon, onion, clams with liquid to potatoes. Mix well. When ready to serve add cracker crumbs to thicken.
