SUGAR DOUGHNUTS 
1/2 c. butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs, beaten
2 tsp. vanilla
6 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
4 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk

Cream together butter and sugar. Blend in eggs and vanilla. Mix together all dry ingredients in separate bowl. Add alternately with milk to sugar mixture. Mix well. Chill dough until firm. Roll out on floured board to be about 1 inch thick. Cut with doughnut cutter or cookie cutter.

Drop in deep fryer or pan with oil. Cook 1 minute or until golden brown, turn over, cook 1 more minute. Drain on paper towel. When cooled, dip in powdered sugar. Makes 5 dozen.
