CRUNCHY APPLESAUCE BREAD 
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. allspice
2 lg. eggs, slightly beaten
1 1/2 c. unsweetened applesauce
1 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. vegetable oil
1/2 c. chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

TOPPING:

1/2 c. pecans or walnuts
1/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9 x 5 inch loaf pan. Combine first 7 ingredients in medium bowl. Whisk eggs, applesauce, sugar and oil in large bowl. Whisk in dry ingredients until smooth. Stir in nuts. Pour into prepared pans. Combine topping in a bowl. Sprinkle with topping.

Bake 1 hour or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pan on wire rack 10 minutes. Remove from pan and cool. Very good warmed with Cool Whip or cold spread with cream cheese.
