FRUIT COCKTAIL CAKE 
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. flour
1/2 c. salad oil
2 tsp. baking soda
1 med. can fruit cocktail

Beat eggs, sugar and oil. Add flour, soda and fruit cocktail liquid. Fold in fruit of the fruit cocktail. Pour in greased and floured 9x13 inch pan and bake 45 minutes at 350 degrees.

TOPPING:

1 stick butter
1 1/2 to 2 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 c. canned cream
3/4 c. sugar

Bring to boil, add 1/2 cup coconut or more. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla. Pour over cake while hot. Or top with 2 cups brown sugar and 2 cups nuts.
