CARAMEL APPLES 
1 c.. sugar
3/4 c. white Karo syrup
1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
1/8 tsp. salt
1/4 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
12 med. apples on popsicle sticks

Mix in heavy pan. Cook, stirring constantly at 230 degrees for 1/2 hour (until soft ball). Don't use too high temperature, it will get brown too fast and be lumpy. Put on greased cookie sheet, not wax paper.
