PRIZE - WINNING BEEF STROGANOFF 
2 lbs. round steak
1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. paprika
1/4 c. salad oil
1/4 c. chopped onion
1 can beef consomme
1 can water
1 bay leaf
1/2 tsp. thyme
1/2 tsp. oregano
1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms
2 tbsp. cooking sherry
1 c. sour cream

Combine salt, garlic salt, paprika, pepper, and flour in brown paper bag. Cut meat into bite sized pieces and shake in the bag until all meat is floured. Brown onions, then brown meat and combine onions and meat. Add consomme, water, and herbs. Simmer until tender (about 1 hour). Just before serving, add drained mushrooms, sherry, and sour cream. Serve over rice or noodles. Serves 6 to 8.
