PICKLED GREEN BEANS 
2 qts. beans
Juice of 1 lemon
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 c. vinegar
2 c. water
Pinch of salt

Clean beans and leave whole. Cook in slightly salted water until tender. Drain and pack in sterile jars. Boil other ingredients 5 minutes and pour over beans until jars are full. Add 1/2 teaspoon mixed spices to each jar.
