1 lb. ground beef
1 (16 oz.) can tomato sauce
1/4 to 1/3 c. chopped onions
8 oz. egg noodles
3 oz. cream cheese
Butter
1/2 c. grated Cheddar cheese
Garlic salt
1 tbsp. sugar
Pepper to taste
1 c. sour cream
Mushrooms (optional)

Brown and drain beef. Add garlic salt, pepper, sugar and tomato sauce. Cover and simmer 15 minutes. Cook noodles according to package directions. Blend onion, sour cream and cream cheese. Grease 2-quart oblong dish with butter. Alternate layers of noodles, meat sauce, sour cream mixture and grated cheese, ending with cheese.

Bake 20 minutes at 350 degrees, uncovered. May add mushrooms to sauce before layering if desired.
