LEXINGTON N.C. STYLE BBQ SLAW 
1 large head cabbage
1/2 cup ketchup
2/3 cup sugar
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons black pepper
2 teaspoons cayenne pepper
1/2 cup vinegar

Finely shred cabbage, by using your box grater or food processor. Place in a large bowl.

In a mixing bowl, combine ketchup, sugar, spices, and vinegar. Whisk until sugar is dissolved, and ingredients are combined. Pour over cabbage; toss to coat cabbage well. Cover.

Chill several hours, but I find the longer...the better.
