STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE 
CAKE:

2 c. flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 c. milk
1/2 c. shortening
1/3 c. sugar

TOPPING:

4 c. fresh strawberries
1 c. sugar
1 c. water
3 tbsp. cornstarch

CAKE: Stir with fork, press into lightly greased pan, 8", bake at 350 degrees until firm.

TOPPING: Use 1 cup of the smallest berries and mix with other ingredients. Cook in pan on stove top until thick. Add 3 cups of berries and stir. Cool and spoon onto short cake.
