FUDGE CAKE 
2/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. sour milk
1 slightly beaten egg
3 (1 oz.) sq. unsweetened chocolate

STEP 2:
1/2 c. Crisco
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs

STEP 3:
2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk

In saucepan combine step 1. Cook over medium heat stirring until chocolate melts and mixture comes just to boil. Cool to room temperature.

Cream Crisco. Add 1 cup sugar; cream well. Add vanilla and remaining eggs; beat well. Add the sifted dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk. Blend in Step 1. Makes 3 large layers.

FROSTING:

3 (1 oz.) sq. chocolate
1/3 c. butter (melt over hot water)
1 lb. powdered sugar, sifted
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
Enough canned milk for right spreading consistency

Beat with electric mixer.
